Arachnoiditis

Arachnoiditis is an inflammation of part of the membrane that surrounds the central nervous system. The symptoms of the inflammation vary, often including headaches, numbness, pins and needles, or pain in the legs and arms. Our central nervous system is surrounded by a transparent membrane that is made up of three layers – the meninges. One of these layers is called the arachnoid mater.

Arachnoiditis is a chronic, sometimes still incurable illness that is often not recognised as such. It is difficult to diagnose. Occasionally, it occurs due to operations, inflammation, bacterial infections (syphilis), viral infections or injuries. As the illness has a hugely detrimental effect on patients’ quality of life, neurostimulation therapy (SCS) offers them the opportunity for effective relief. If you need my help in this regard, we would be more than happy to advise you on how we can help you to rapidly improve your quality of life.
